一、课程教学目的

The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to strategic thinking and analysis, in particular in the context of business competition, through the basic techniques of game theory and to illustrate the range of its applications in almost all fields of social interaction. This course is designed for students majoring in subjects related to business and economics, but should also be of interest to a broad range of students. In many - perhaps most - economic, political, legal and social interactions, there is potential for strategic behavior, a term, “intended to focus on the interdependence of the adversaries' decisions and on their expectations about each other's behavior.” (Schelling, 1960,The Strategy of Conflict). Recognizing and understanding such behavior is an essential part of any analyst's toolkit and this course is designed to enable just such recognition and understanding.

在教学过程中，授课教师将会结合课程进度，以自己的发表论文和工作论文为范例，向学生讲解如何应用所学课堂知识进行切合现实的学术研究。

个人简介:陈益卷老师为美国宾夕法尼亚大学经济学博士，现任教于澳大利亚国立大学商学院经济系。其专业研究领域为健康经济学与产业组织学。曾在Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Mathematical Economics等学术期刊上发表多篇论文。曾获2013年澳大利亚健康经济学会年度青年研究工作者奖(Early Career Researcher Prize)。陈益卷老师曾在宾夕法尼亚大学与澳大利亚国立大学先后教授博弈论，初级微观经济学，产业组织学，经济专业数学，以及管理经济学等课程。
